The May of Monuments

Today begins the 'May of Monuments' in Naples or 'Maggio dei Monumenti' when most museums and national parks are free to the public with extended hours of operation -- including places like Pompeii. Many museums and sights now open that are usually closed the rest of the year, including the Cimitero delle Fontanelle, the underground cemetery that houses thousands of human skulls. This is a great time to come out and enjoy the rich sites of Naples. For more information about tours and openings, click here.
